Progress made on Website and Minecraft Addon:
Today I added a blog feature to my website. I'm a bit nervous about this, as even though hardly anybody is going to read what I write here, having a public platform like this is still a big responsibility. At the moment, this blog is probably going to work like a cross between a diary and changelog; a place where I can share my thoughts on my recent work, as well as document the changes I make in a way that others can see.
I'm having some difficulty deciding what amount of documentation to provide for my Minecraft pack. On one hand while it is very detailed and I'm certain some users would love a tutorial, on the other, the pack has been downloaded by a very small number of people, very few of which are probably invested enough to keep track of announcments and updates (I'm basing this off the large drop-off in views between the pack's release trailer and first update trailer).
Which brings another question: How much effort should I put into promotion?
I want people to see and enjoy my work, but I also don't want to have to worry about responding to near-endless requests and complaints should this pack become popular. I guess you really can't have your cake and eat it too.
On a more positive note...
I made some progress today! I'm working on adding some new bodystyles to existing vehicles within the pack. I'm going this route because making a new bodystyle takes half the time that a regular addition would, meaning that I can add more variety to the pack with less time and effort. As a solo developer, even though this project is quite small, I think I should still look for ways to save time when it doesn't sacrifice on quality.
Going off the IRL Chrysler K-Platform, I added a convertible variant of the Dunbar Aburrida. This car is based off a 1993 Chrysler LeBaron and named "Dunbar Grandee Interesante Convertible III Esq.". The "III Esq." in the name's just a comedic bit I added on once I realized what a mouthful the name was going to be.
